One entry, regardless of method
- Be a legal United States resident aged 18 or older.
- Use either the optional donation route or the handwritten free postal route.
- Submit no more than one entry per person during the entire sweepstakes.
Donation and free mail entries share one pool
- Choose the optional campaign donation page or prepare the handwritten request described in the rules.
- For free entry, include full name, address, email and phone number and mail it to the Denver Zoological Foundation address.
- Ensure the request is received by August 30 and monitor the supplied email after the September 2 drawing.
Each winner is assigned one distinct experience
The first listed prize is a behind-the-scenes experience with the flamingo flock. The second is a meet-and-greet with Harley, and the third is an exclusive talk with the animal care specialist connected to the lion cubs.
The zoo selects one winner for each prize from the same pool. The entrant does not apply for a particular animal experience, so anyone entering should be comfortable accepting whichever of the three is assigned.
A donation does not buy extra odds
The fundraising page may offer a convenient online route, but the rules are explicit that no donation is necessary and a donation does not increase the chance of winning. Donation and free entries go into the same selection pool.
The free method requires a handwritten request sent by mail and received by the closing date. Because the overall limit is one, using both methods can create a duplicate rather than an additional chance.
The package starts at the zoo gate
Each experience admits the winner and four guests, but the published prize does not include flights, accommodation, parking, meals or other travel arrangements. The group must reach Denver Zoo at its own expense.
Winners are offered three pre-selected dates or times. The experience must be completed by December 31, which means availability and the group’s travel calendar should be checked quickly after notification.
Email response is especially time-sensitive
The random drawing is scheduled around September 2, and the zoo expects to email the selected people within one day. A winner who does not respond within 72 hours may be replaced by an alternate.
The supplied address should be monitored around the drawing date. The zoo may also need proof of age or eligibility before confirming the experience and guest arrangements.
Experience assignment and travel limits
- One winner is selected for each of the three experiences and entrants cannot choose which prize they are drawn for.
- The winner is responsible for reaching the zoo; guests may be minors, but the winner must be at least 18.
- Notification is expected within one day of the drawing, with a 72-hour response window.
