My Nintendo Yoshi & Mario: Best Buds Sweepstakes 2026

Five winners each receive a four-item Mario and Yoshi pack, including a wireless controller and protective case for Nintendo Switch 2.

Each entry consumes 10 Platinum Points. The rules allow ten entries, so using the full limit requires 100 points.

Nintendo’s Best Buds draw is a points-redemption sweepstakes rather than a product purchase promotion. The prize combines two licensed PowerA accessories for Nintendo Switch 2 with a decorative Yoshi pillow and plush backpack.

Account, age and Canadian conditions

  • Live in the 50 United States, District of Columbia or Canada excluding Quebec.
  • Be at least 13; entrants below the local age of majority need parent or guardian consent.
  • Have a Nintendo Account with enough Platinum Points for the number of entries requested.

Turn Platinum Points into entries

  1. Open the Best Buds reward page while signed in to the eligible Nintendo Account.
  2. Redeem 10 Platinum Points for an entry and repeat only if you want additional chances.
  3. Stop at the overall limit of ten entries and monitor the account email after the August drawing.

Every winner receives the same four-item pack

The prize pack contains a PowerA Advantage Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch 2 in the Mario and Yoshi design, a matching PowerA protection case, a Super Mario Yoshi decorative pillow and a plush Yoshi backpack.

Nintendo lists five identical winner packages. The total approximate retail value for all five is $649.80, which places the individual package at just under $130 based on the published component values.

Platinum Points are spent, not merely checked

The entry action is a reward redemption. A member with ten points can make one entry; a member using the maximum ten-entry allowance spends 100 Platinum Points. The rules do not describe a refund if the entrant changes their mind.

A purchase is not required, and Nintendo states that payment does not improve the odds. The practical barrier is therefore the account and available points balance rather than ownership of a particular game.

Teen entrants need an adult’s consent

The minimum age is 13, but that does not remove local minor rules. Anyone below the legal age of majority must enter with parent or guardian consent, and the adult may need to complete release documents if the minor is selected.

Quebec residents are excluded. Elsewhere in Canada, a potential winner must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question before the prize can be awarded.

The email response window is only five days

Nintendo plans the random drawing for approximately August 11 and notification for approximately August 18. The message goes to the address tied to the Nintendo Account used for entry.

Ignoring the message, missing requested forms or failing the eligibility check can lead to forfeiture and an alternate selection. The rules also limit awards to one prize per household or address.

Drawing, household cap and claim steps

  • The promotion closes at noon Pacific Time on August 4.
  • Five potential winners are selected around August 11 and expected to be emailed around August 18.
  • A potential winner has five days to follow the notification instructions; Canadian winners must answer a skill-testing question.
